"Set sail is a record unlike any I have ever heard. It breaks the conventional rules of album production, and I am proud of that. It was recorded over a span of several years, in various studios with different musicians and different mixing engineers. In some places it is thoroughly edited, fine-tuned, and dressed up, while in others it is completely naked. It is a story of pain and loneliness, but it is also a story of unremitting hope. It is an intimate, authentic piece of myself. Much like my live performances, I am simultaneously excited and terrified to share it with you."
