There are a whole lot of shows out there featuring a singer-songwriter “and Friends,” but we figured, “Why should Leify Green’s personal relationships with other artists have anything to do with it?” Is being friends with Leify Green a legitimate qualification for stage time? What about all those talented performers who don’t get along with Leify? After all, as one local promoter put it, “A lot of people don’t like Leify Green.” At Leify Green & Enemies, you will experience at least one set of Leify Green music as well as performances by some of the greatest independent artists from Tampa Bay and beyond - regardless of their personal feelings towards each other. If you believe you are worthy of our stage, write your name and drop it in the Cauldron of Destiny. Leify will draw random names for open mic performances throughout the night. Open Mic Rules: 1. Make sure your instrument and equipment are tuned and ready to perform. 2. You get one shot. Your first song decides the fate of your performance. 3. After your first song, Leify Green will briefly interview you about yourself and your music. All questions are fair game. Be prepared. 4. If Leify decides so, you may get to play another song (or two, or three, or four). Audience response is a major factor in Leify’s decision. 5. At any time, any member of the audience can pay Leify $20 to immediately give you the Axe. So bring your A Game!
